ABOUT ABBEY

AUTHOR speaker BIBLE TEACHER writer

Welcome, friend. I’m glad you’re here..

If we haven’t met before, I’m Abbey. I'm the thankful wife of David, who I met while working for RUF shortly after I finished my time at UNC Chapel Hill. Together, we have three young sons, who I spend my days homeschooling. We live, work, and play on the beautiful SC coast, where David sells real estate and I manage our home, write, and raise our boys.

I get fired up about fall weather, planting and growing things, writing, sewing, french country furniture, theology, baking, good books, and good conversation. Discipleship and Bible Literacy are my passions, and I love to see the way that the gospel transforms how people think and live. I particularly love to apply that good news to the subjects of shame, parenting, motherhood, marriage, and miscarriage.

Have a look around, and please, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself.

Truly honored that you took time to take a look around on this site. I sincerely hope that we have the opportunity to connect in the future.

warmly,

In 2020 I released my first book, Held: 31 Biblical Reflections on God’s Comfort and Care in the Sorrow of Miscarriage.

In 2023, my children’s book series, β€œTraining Young Hearts,” was born out of a poem that I wrote for my kids. With titles like Your Amazing Hands! and What are Mouths for?, this collection of rhyming books for kids 3-6 and lift-the-flap books for kids 0-3, help kids look to Jesus in their failures and depend on the Spirit for grace-motivated obedience. This series now has 9 titles, including the GBM 2026 Early Childhood Book of the Year, What are Feelings for?

In 2026, Help! I’m Ruining My Kids: A Gospel Guide for the Mom Who’s Desperate for Change released. This passion project was born out of my own wrestlings with fear and defeat after observing the impact of my sin and shortcomings on my own children.

I can’t wait to share more about my next kids book, releasing with B&H in September, 2026.

β€œFor what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, β€œLet light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:5-6

I occasionally write for other platforms, send a monthly newsletter called β€œHere’s Something,” and regularly microblog on Instagram. If you’d like, you can find more writing and podcast interviews here.

I love to travel to speak and to teach the Bible, but my favorite place to serve is at our home church here in the South Carolina Lowcountry, Christ Redeemer (PCA), where I serve in the Worship, Children, and Women’s ministries.

MY MISSION STATEMENT

β€œHelping women and children apply the RICHES of Christ, to the REALITIES of life.”
